Pediatric Outreach

Community Health Improvement is dedicated to creating and sustaining a safe and healthy environment for our youth.  As such, we work with The Vermont Children's Hospital, the Northern New England Poison Center, Vermont Governor's Highway Safety Program, and a variety of other groups to plan and implement youth-oriented wellness programs.  Take a look at some of our programs below:

	Car Seat Safety We partner with the Vermont Governor's Highway Safety Program to make sure that each child passenger is safe and secure when riding in a vehicle.  For more information on child passenger safety and the Vermont laws on booster seats, click here.
	Vermont Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (VTEHDI) Program In an effort to identify infant hearing loss and provide access to early intervention, all Vermont birthing hospitals provide inpatient newborn hearing screenings. For more information on VTEHDI click here.
	Poison Prevention and Education Fletcher Allen partners with the New England Poison Prevention Center to deliver fast and accurate poison information to the community. For more information on poisonings and prevention, click here.
